A HISTORY OF RED STAG TIMBER

23 - 30 November 2024

Discovery Space, Second Floor, Rotorua Library
Part of He Kete Rau Mahara | Rotorua Heritage Week

Come and see this exhibition which honours Red Stag Timber, Rotorua’s largest private employer and a cornerstone of the local community.
Originally founded by the government in 1939, their Waipa Mill became privately owned in 1996 and was acquired by the Verry family in 2003 who are still the current owners. Today, they proudly lead the timber industry, producing premium structural timber products sourced from local, renewable forests. As the largest and most modern single-site sawmill in the Southern Hemisphere, Red Stag Timber is committed to innovation, sustainability and community engagement.
