Spring Into Wellness Rā Hauora Health Day
In partnership a number of local health organisations, Rotorua Library is hosting another event where health information and expertise will be freely available for the community.
October is Health Literacy Month when the emphasis is on making health literature easier to understand and the health care system easier to navigate. Along with the Library’s “Spring Into Wellness” October theme, came the motivation to host a public event where people will be able to gather health information and talk to professionals in the various fields.
Making it a festival-type atmosphere in the Jean Batten park outside the Library will attract passers-by as well as library users.
It will also be Loud Shirt Day on the 27th, to raise awareness and support for The Hearing House and Southern Cochlear Implant Programme.– the two charities in New Zealand dedicated to helping children and adults with cochlear implants to learn to listen and communicate.
Put your brightest shirt on (or not) and come on down to the library between 10am – 2pm on Friday 27 October and visit several health advocates in one easy visit.
