Te Aka Mauri Mentoring Through Gaming - Learn, Play, and Grow

The Te Aka Mauri Mentoring through Gaming Workshop is a 10-week programme designed to use digital gaming as a tool for personal and professional growth. Aimed at Year 7-13 students, this workshop helps participants develop essential skills such as strategic thinking, leadership, teamwork, and resilience through gaming.

Held on Fridays at 3:30pm during our live stream, each 45-minute session includes structured gameplay, mentor-led discussions, and group reflections. Participants will engage in game scenarios that enhance problem-solving and collaboration, while rotating leadership roles to develop communication and team-building skills.

By the end of the program, students will see measurable improvements in their problem-solving and communication abilities, while gaining valuable leadership experience. They will also create a digital portfolio showcasing their progress and achievements throughout the programme.

Te Aka Mauri NexGen - Live Streaming Programme

NexGen offers an intensive live digital broadcasting training programme at Te Aka Mauri, led by a local streamer. This programme provides students with hands-on experience in both the technical and creative aspects of live streaming. Over each season, students will have the opportunity to plan, execute, and manage live events, using broadcast equipment and software while enhancing their content creation skills.

Designed for passionate, highly engaged students, this programme offers an immersive experience that covers everything from behind-the-scenes technical setup to on-screen content production. Participants will develop key skills in video editing, sound mixing, and streaming software management while gaining insight into the world of live media production.
